How the Corsa Security Platform for Scaling Threat Protection works
The Corsa Security platform is built up on four base elements that are tightly integrated to address both the needs of the network and the security stack. This sophisticated integration is turnkey so you don’t need to worry about setting up, managing and tracking VMs. You get a tightly coupled system that horizontally scales virtual instances of your security service, allowing you to stay focused on your security policy. It includes:
- Corsa Security Orchestrator
- Virtual firewalls from Palo Alto Networks and Fortinet
- Corsa Security Software Load Balancer
- Commodity compute servers
Once deployed (which only takes a few minutes), traffic enters the software load balancer on either 1G/10G or 100G links and is balanced across the pools of virtual firewalls. Because of the advanced load balancing and horizontal scaling into compute, you can turn up as much traffic inspection or other capability on a link as you require.
Traditional inspection bottlenecks are eliminated. As your inspection needs change, you can add more virtual firewalls with the click of a button. The number of virtual firewall instances to create more inspection capacity is up to you but it is also monitored by the platform so you don’t need to.
